Fiber Installation – What you need to know

Minimum requirement

For a fibre socket to be installed in your apartment, the fibre cables must already be laid to your building. Property management usually has all the necessary information on whether the expansion has been carried out or is planned.

Before installation can begin, an availability check is required. Check whether fibre is already available at your address here:

What to do if fibre is not available?

If fibre is not yet available at your address, you can ask property management whether an expansion is planned. A request can also be submitted to Swisscom: https://www.swisscom.ch/en/about/network/connection.html

What we take care of

We arrange the installation of the fibre socket directly in your apartment – free of charge, carried out by Swisscom or Cablex. During the order, simply select "I would like a free installation of a fibre socket".

Important

Please check carefully whether an OTO socket is already installed in your apartment. These usually start with A, B or O. If you request a new OTO socket during your order and one is already installed, the service provider will charge a cancellation fee of CHF 100.– to CHF 150.–.

OTO socket in an inconvenient location?

If an OTO socket is already available but poorly positioned (e.g. in the hallway or behind a kitchen cupboard), moving it to another location within the apartment is possible at your own expense. Swisscom is only obliged to install a functioning socket.

Switch from DSL to fibre

If you are currently using DSL and would like to switch to fibre, you can do so easily in the customer cockpit or by contacting us. We will check fibre availability at your address and initiate the necessary steps.
