Setting up your Phone (FRITZ!Box Router)
Introduction
This guide will help you set up your phone on the FRITZ!Box router. It is also useful if you cannot make calls or are not reachable.
Connecting
- Connect your device:
- Make sure you are connected to the FRITZ!Box, preferably via a LAN cable (Yellow). Connection via Wi-Fi (with a mobile device) is also possible.
- Open a browser:
- Open an Internet browser (e.g., Firefox, Safari, Chrome) and enter the address http://fritz.box/.
- If this doesn't work, try the following IP addresses: 192.168.178.254 or 169.254.1.1.
Telephony Settings
- Open Telephony:
- Click on "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Configure your own numbers:
- Select the option "Own Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Click on "New Number".
- Select Internet telephony provider:
- If a dropdown list appears to select an Internet telephony provider, choose "Teleboy". If this option is not available, select "Other Provider".
Note: The available providers in the dropdown list depend on the country setting of the FRITZ!Box.
Enter Registration Data
- Enter the Internet number (phone number) and registration data (e.g., username, password, registrar) into the corresponding input fields.
VoIP Settings
Access data: You have received the access data for the phone separately by email. You can also find it here in your customer account under "My Services" -> "Landline" -> "Setup".
Further Steps
- Follow the assistant:
- Click on "Next" and follow the instructions of the assistant.
- Check PVC option:
- Make sure that the "PVC" checkbox is not activated.
- Restart the FRITZ!Box:
- After another restart of the FRITZ!Box, the setup should be successful.
Important Note: The images may not be identical to the user interface of your router as there are constant updates. However, the terms and paths to the input fields should be correct.
