Internet access setup: DSL and fiber optics

What technologies does Teleboy offer?

At Teleboy, we offer a range of internet technologies to provide the best available connection depending on your location:

TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION
DSL / G.Fast Internet via the classic telephone line (copper) – up to 100 Mbit/s (DSL) or 500 Mbit/s (G.Fast)
Fiber AON High-speed internet via fiber optic lines – up to 1 Gbit/s
Fiber XGS-PON High-speed internet via fiber optic lines – up to 10 Gbit/s

ℹ Note – Activation time window

Your new internet will be activated during the day:
Fiber activation: between 8:00 and 17:00
DSL activation: from 17:00
It is not uncommon for the activation process to take until late afternoon. You can also find information about the activation period in your confirmation email.

Setting up a DSL line (copper)

1Check your cables

Make sure that all cables are correctly and firmly connected to the router and the telephone socket. A loose connection is often the cause of a missing connection.

2Check your adapter

If an adapter is used, check that it is correctly and firmly seated in the telephone socket. Often the adapter is not deep enough in the socket. It must click properly!

3Activation page appearing?

For a DSL line, activation is automatic – no input required. If an activation page appears anyway, try again in a few hours.

⚠ Important – New connection made?

If an electrician has reconnected a line at your premises and you are now seeing an activation page, please inform our support team. Provide the AC0 number visible on the page – the team will activate the line for you.

Setting up a fiber optic line

There are two fiber optic technologies – the activation type varies depending on the technology:

TECHNOLOGY ACTIVATION ROUTER
AON (up to 1 GB/s) Automatic, no code required FRITZ!Box 5530 AON or 5490
XGS-PON (up to 10 GB/s) Via activation code Zyxel AX7501 or FRITZ!Box 5530 XGS

Check fiber optic cables

1Use the correct slot

Always use the slot marked "2" on your fiber optic socket.

2Check the cabling

Make sure the cabling is correctly connected and undamaged. No kinks in the cables! Fiber cables must not be laid in cable ducts.

Activation page (XGS-PON)

1An activation page appears

Enter the following information:
OTO-ID (e.g. B.123.456.789.0) – on the sticker on the OTO socket
Plug number: 2
Activation code 1: PON Activation Code (for initial activation)
Activation code 2: your personal NSN number (for line assignment, also needed when changing routers)

ℹ Note

Activation usually takes between 5 and 30 minutes.

2No activation page appears

First check that all cables are connected correctly (especially plug 2). If the problem persists, contact our support team with: router photos (front, back, bottom), OTO socket photos (cable in plug 2), location information (new building? construction site nearby?).

3Activation code not accepted

– Check that the OTO-ID has been entered correctly.
– Make sure no accidental space was copied with the activation code.
– For a previously activated line (e.g. new router), the NSN must be used as the activation code.
– If the previous tenant also used fiber: confirm their line was properly terminated.

4No code received?

Contact Teleboy support with your customer number. We will resend you the necessary activation data.
